NO HOPE // PRIVACY

LOCAL DATA MODE: ACTIVE

Effective date: July 28, 2026

NO HOPE is a local music player developed and published by V0L.

This Privacy Policy explains what information NO HOPE accesses, how that information is used, and how it is handled.

Information NO HOPE accesses

NO HOPE may request permission to access audio files stored on your device.

This access is used only to:

  • Locate compatible audio files
  • Display audio filenames in the local music library
  • Load and play audio selected by the user
  • Allow the user to select a music folder
  • Support playback controls and media-session functionality

NO HOPE may process local file information such as:

  • Audio filenames
  • File locations or content URIs
  • Track duration
  • Current playback position
  • The folder selected by the user

This information is processed locally on the user’s device.

Information collected by the developer

NO HOPE does not collect, transmit, upload, sell, or share personal information.

The developer does not receive:

  • Audio files
  • Filenames
  • Music-library contents
  • Folder locations
  • Playback history
  • Device identifiers
  • Location information
  • Contact information
  • Advertising identifiers
  • Usage analytics

NO HOPE does not contain advertising or behavioral tracking.

App settings

NO HOPE stores a small number of preferences locally on the device, such as whether AUTO-NEXT is enabled.

These settings are stored in the app’s private local storage and are not transmitted to the developer or to third parties.

Depending on Android backup settings, the operating system may back up or restore some app preferences. Such backup services are controlled by the device platform and the user’s Google account settings, not by V0L.

Audio files and media access

NO HOPE does not modify, upload, or share the user’s audio files.

Audio access is used only to provide the app’s local music-player features.

If the user selects a folder through Android’s system file picker, Android may grant NO HOPE persistent permission to read that folder. The user may revoke this access through Android system settings, by removing the app, or by clearing the app’s storage.

Bluetooth and media controls

NO HOPE uses Android media-session and audio-playback services to support:

  • Bluetooth headset controls
  • Lock-screen media controls
  • System media controls
  • Audio focus
  • Background playback while the app remains active

These features are provided through Android’s operating-system media framework. NO HOPE does not use Bluetooth controls to collect or transmit personal information.

Third-party services

NO HOPE does not use third-party advertising, analytics, tracking, or profiling services.

The app relies on Android and AndroidX/Media3 libraries for core application, storage-access, and media-playback functionality. These libraries operate as part of the app and Android platform.

NO HOPE does not intentionally send user data to external servers.

Data sharing and sale

NO HOPE does not sell personal information.

NO HOPE does not share personal information with advertisers, data brokers, analytics providers, or other third parties.

Data retention

NO HOPE does not maintain a remote database or developer-controlled user records.

Local settings and permissions remain on the user’s device until they are:

  • Changed within the app
  • Cleared through Android system settings
  • Removed when the app is uninstalled
  • Restored or removed by the device’s operating-system backup system

Because NO HOPE does not receive or store user data on developer-controlled servers, the developer generally has no user data to retrieve or delete.

Data security

NO HOPE is designed to keep audio-library information and app preferences on the user’s device.

No method of software or device storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their device, operating system, files, and device account.

Children’s privacy

NO HOPE is not specifically directed toward children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Because the app does not collect or transmit personal information, it does not knowingly maintain personal data belonging to children.

User choices

Users may control NO HOPE’s access through Android settings.

Users may:

  • Grant or deny audio permission
  • Select or stop using a music folder
  • Revoke storage permissions
  • Clear the app’s data
  • Disable Android backup where supported
  • Uninstall the app

Revoking audio access may prevent the app from locating or playing music files.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated if NO HOPE’s features or data practices change.

Any updated version will be posted at the same public URL with a revised effective date. The Google Play Data Safety declaration will also be updated where required.
